Alfred J. Van-Fossen was born on May 24, 1935 to Joe and Edna Van-Fossen in Chester, West Virginia. Alfred entered into peaceful rest on August 25, 2018 in Kendrick, Oklahoma surrounded by his loved ones. Alfred was an avid outdoorsman. Anyone that knew Alfred knew that you could always find him outside working in the shop or junking. Alfred also enjoyed hunting and fishing and was always ready to share a story or two from his trips. He was a very talented Blackjack player and won several tournaments. In April of 1982 Alfred retired from the Steel Mill in Pennsylvania. He also worked in pottery in Ohio. Alfred had always been a hard worker and there was never a job he could not do. What Alfred enjoyed and loved most in his life is his family. He would always be there for a family member when they needed him. Preceding Alfred in death are his parents, seven sisters, five brothers, two grandchildren, his daughter Teresa. As well as his beloved wife, Bonnie. Left to mourn his passing is one sister, Margie Laketic of Kansas, 1st wife Juanita of Omaha, Nebraska, two sons, Randy and wife Mary Van-Fossen of Kendrick, Oklahoma, John and wife Linda Van-Fossen of Burns Flat, Oklahoma. Two daughters, Tammy Slachetka of Omaha, Nebraska, and June and husband Harry Starnes of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Along with 22 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. With a host of other family and friends. Services for Alfred Van-Fossen will be Friday, August 31, 2018 at the New Covenant Church in Stroud, Oklahoma at 4:00pm. Services entrusted to Brown's Family Funeral Home of Chandler, Oklahoma.
