July 1, 1945 – May 30, 2024
Angelene Gayle ( Memaw) Caskey (Parks) was born in Norman, Oklahoma July 1 1945. She was born to James Parks of Norman and Ida Mae Parks of AR. Gayle graduated Lexington High School class of 1963 with her dear friend Sammie Kay. She met Harold Windell Caskey at a basketball game her senior year and the two married June 28th 1963. Three days before her 18th birthday the story was told with love because her daddy had to sign her permission to marry. Gayle and Harold moved to Norman and began a beautiful family; James Windell Caskey in May of 64, Anthony Harold Caskey in Jan. of 68, And lastly Michelle Lynn Caskey in December of 69. In that time they both started careers, Harold being at the fire department, and Gayle at Norman Regional for years and even opening her own child care center in her home. Gayle and Harold move to the family home in Lexington in 78. They opened and operated Caskey's Carpets until they sold in 1996 the building is still a carpet store till this day. Gayle or Mrs. Gayle started at DOC in 1999 and after 10 years she put in her final retirement. Mrs. Gayle worked in the mail room and was loved by so many in the DOC family. She got the name of Memaw in 1985 at 38 years old. Gayle never missed an opportunity to have a family gathering the house was filled love. Over the years she was at all the choir, football, baseball, band, FFA, and lastly but an important one softball. She spent years showing up to every event for her grandkids and even the greats too. Gayle passed on May 30th her room was filled with loved ones and Elvis was singing to her. She is preceded in death by her mother and father James and Ida Mae Parks, Her Brothers Floyd Parks, and Jimmy Parks. Her husband of 58 years Harold Windell Caskey. Gayle lives on in the hearts of James Caskey and wife Kim of Tecumseh, Tony Caskey and wife Brenda of OKC, Michelle Caskey/Laurent of Lexington. Her grandchildren Christopher James Caskey and wife Kara, Hollie Rachelle Caskey-Koldewyn and Quillan , Julie Smith-Forsyth and husband Ryan, Lacee Angelene Caskey, Lauren Sue Caskey, Brandi Michelle Reed and husband John, Tyler Jordan Laurent, Ryan Lee Laurent, Treavor Harold Laurent and wife Robyn, Abigayle Brooklynn Chavez and husband Edwin. The great grandchildren Matthew, Aaron, Kai, Eli, Rhett, Lila, Odin, Gunnar, Layla, Emilia, Jaxson, Braxton, Vincent, and Cohen.
