IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anthony (Tony)
Wayne Woody
March 19, 1964 – June 16, 2025
Anthony (Tony) Wayne Woody of Meeker, OK passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, June 16, 2025 at the age of 61.
Tony was the first born son of Jerry and Carolyn Woody on March 19, 1964 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He grew up in Meeker and attended Meeker Public Schools, Gordon Cooper Technology Center, and graduated from Liberty Academy in Shawnee. Tony, also known as Bones and Woody, wasn't afraid of hard work. During his teen years, he spent his summers bailing hay and milking cows. He even milked those cows in his sleep and called them by name. As a young man, he worked at Lewis manufacturing, TDK and became certified in HVAC. He spent the majority of his career working on aircraft at Tinker Air Force Base.
Tony was creative and resourceful with many artistic talents. He was an excellent cook and baker who loved to feed family and friends. He was a self proclaimed sommelier with a deep appreciation for wine. When Tony started a hobby, he was all in. He grew his own grapes so he could experience the entire process of wine making. He even won a title at the state fair with one of his vintages. His creativity was evident in the beautiful show cars and hot rods he built. Music was also an important part of his life and brought him great joy. He could sing, play the banjo and guitar. He thought highly of his dance skills. We will all miss that lanky man dancing.
Tony was a quiet observer and a man of few words but was always ready to tell his latest witty joke. He enjoyed the outdoors, adventures on his motorcycle, fishing, hiking, and archery. He was an expert with a bow and won his first archery trophy at age 8 competing with adults. Tony was a talented angler who spent hours at the lake fishing. He was proud of the many bass competitions he won over the years.
Tony is survived and missed dearly by his son Derek, daughter-in-law Megan, and grandsons Logan and Korban. He will always be cherished by his father Jerry, brothers Jamie and Tim, sister-in-law Mary, sister Kim Felten, and brother-in-law Scott Felten. His nieces and nephews adored him and will always remember their uncle Tony as a tall teddy bear. His many aunts, uncles, and cousins will remember his kind and gentle spirit. He was preceded in death by his precious mom Carolyn, sister Michele Woody, and grandparents Fannie and Jesse Bowen, and Eunice and Omer Woody.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 am Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Brown's Funeral Home in Prague, OK with Brother Bill Leveridge, Tony's cousin, officiating. Graveside service will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker, OK.
Visitation is from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Brown's Funeral Home in Prague.
