Obituary

Beatrice M. "Perham" Beeson was born July 25, 1922 to George Henry and Florence "Blunt" Perham in Axminster, England. She died peacefully on August 31, 2023 at the age of 101.She met her husband Jack Beeson in Axminster after World War II. They were married in England and then Jack was transported back to the United States by the U.S. Army and discharged. Beatrice traveled to the United States on board the steamship Uruguay, commissioned by the War Shipping Administration, and arrived in New York City and Ellis Island in 1946 at the age of 23. After complying with immigration service at Ellis Island, she traveled to Tecumseh, Oklahoma to meet her husband Jack.

Beatrice resided in Harrah, Oklahoma from 1999 until her death across the street from her daughter Susan. She was fiercely independent, fiercely loyal to her family and tougher than nails. She was a bonafide product of "the greatest generation." A great joy for her the last years of her life was making a trip to the casino to play slot machines. She was a visitor several times a week courtesy of her daughter Susan. When she was 97, she and her son Jerry went to the casino New Year's Eve at 8 p.m. and arrived back home at 10 a.m. the next day, January 1. You could say she loved the thrill of the slots. She and daughter Susan made several trips back to England after the death of her husband Jack in 1999.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Beeson, daughter Deborah Jones and son Jerry Beeson. She is survived by her daughters Pamela Massey of Axminster, England; Jeanette Bennett of Yukon; Oklahoma, Susan Goodman and husband Randy of Harrah, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She will be missed.
