Beauford Ollen Devereaux entered this life April 24, 1925 in Prague, Oklahoma to John Lewis and Hester Devereaux. He transitioned to Glory on May 14, 2020 at the age of 95. Ollen began working when he was 5 milking cows, bailing hay, and raising his own garden. He graduated from Meeker High School in 1942. He was involved in various fields of work including the shipyards in California during WWII, the Bureau of Reclamation also in California, owned and operated Ollen's Café in Meeker, Oklahoma, designed and built forms for flood control towers, worked for Thomas Concrete Products, and built houses. On June 25, 1949, Ollen married Katheren Eggleston and together they raised 4 daughters. After retirement Ollen and Katheren moved to Shawnee, Oklahoma where he continued to garden as much as he could and sang along as he played his guitar. Ollen is survived by his wife, Katheren; 4 daughters, Lana Frazier and husband Earl of Chandler, Oklahoma, Donita Cordonnier of Prague, Oklahoma, Tonya Genn and husband Ken of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Kip Wheeler and husband Robert of Shawnee, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren; 2 brothers, J.D. Devereaux and wife LaVonne of Prague, Oklahoma, and Arthur Devereaux and wife Kayron of Meeker, Oklahoma; and 2 sisters, Loyce Gouker of Campbell, California, and Joyce Williams and husband Leon of Chandler, Oklahoma. Ollen was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 pm, Thursday, June 25 at Family of Faith, 3 miles south of Meeker, Oklahoma on Hwy 18.
