IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Betty Annette
Hollis
September 24, 1953 – September 17, 2024
We come to you with a heavy heart to announce the passing of Betty Annette Hollis, the daughter of Bertha Lucille Hale Jarvis and Fred Hale. She was born on September 24, 1953, in Frederick Town, Missouri, Betty's beautiful soul was called home on September 17, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, following a sudden, valiant battle with cancer.
Betty was a beacon of warmth and the epitome of hospitality. She loved to cook, working in the culinary industry during her younger years, and eventually opening her own restaurant- Betty's Little Café. Her achievements transcended her professional life, as she was cherished for hosting the best holiday gatherings, being a great listener, and her devotion to her family.
Married to James Hollis, a man who treated her like the treasure she was, Betty had many beautiful years. Her family was her world. She was a mother not only to her biological children—Robert Brown, Sylena King—as well as her oldest grandson, Jared Brooks. She held dear the memory of her late son, Fred Brown, who surely welcomed her with open arms when the Lord called her Home. She also extended her motherly love to many who were not related by blood. Her affection knew no bounds, and this extended to her grandchildren, Laryssa, Mason, Brailen, Colton, and her adored great-grandchildren Rosemary, Sonny, Nicholas, Sarah, and Sebastian. Betty was also greeted in Heaven by 3 of her angel grandchildren; Brittany, Morgan, and Brendan.
Betty's interests painted the picture of a woman who cherished life's simple pleasures. She had a green thumb that made her flowers bloom as brightly as her smile. Her home was always beautifully decorated and she never could turn down a good shopping trip to Big Lots or Garden Ridge.
Those who knew Betty would say she was the embodiment of love, generosity, and gentleness. She made everyone around her felt loved, seen, and valued. The love she shared will continue to resonate in the hearts of those she has left behind. She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered as a light in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
