Earlsboro resident Billy Gene Jones, 79, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2026 in Earlsboro, Oklahoma.

Bill was born December 5, 1946 in Los Angeles, California, to John and Pauline (Shipman) Jones.

He was a machinist for most of his working years along with having his own businesses on the side.

In November of 1968, he married Janet Curran in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were married for nearly 41 years.

He was drafted into the service in VietNam in 1969.

Primarily raised in Torrance, California, settling down in Spiro, Oklahoma in 1977.

Bill enjoyed gardening, grilling, watching Cardinal's games and spending time with friends and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Pauline Jones; his wife Janet; his son Bill Jones of Denver, Colorado.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Melissa Jones of Earlsboro, Oklahoma, his daughter and husband, Karen and David Kurtz of Spiro, Oklahoma along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Many other family members and friends will cherish his memory.
