Caroline Strouse passed away March 12, 2025. At the age of 83, surrounded and loved by family. She was born in Mackinaw Illinois to Theodore Elmore Piper and Mildred Margret Miller Piper on November 12, 1941. In the 1980s she moved to Oklahoma with her two children, Gary and Crystal. Caroline was married to Harold VanDusen from 1998-2013. In that marriage she gained six stepchildren, Lydia, Nina, Sharon, Patsy, Eddie, and Harold, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She married Michael George Strouse January 31, 2015, to present and gained two more stepchildren Stacy and Aron. Caroline loved all the children. Caroline worked at the factory Allen Bradley. Then as a housekeeper/janitor for different hospitals and nursing homes. Caroline was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Shawnee Okla for 20+ years. All the members of the church loved her, and she loved all of them. She loved the women's Bible studies at the church. She loved making canvas crosses with Bible verses and handing them out to people. She loved spending time with her grandchildren whether it was watching movies, arts and crafts, swimming, dominos, puzzles, or going to the park. She attended every birthday and Christmas with her 3 biological grandchildren. Every year she would meet up with all her remaining sisters for a sister gathering. She enjoyed spending time with them, gift exchanges, puzzles, and a lot of photos. Caroline is survived by her son Gary Burke and her daughter Crystal and husband Jonathan Morgan and their 3 children Kimberly, Jessica and Caleb Morgan. Caroline had 8 stepchildren Lydia Amburn, Nina VanDusen, Sharon Nutt, Patsy Lewis, Eddie VanDusen, Harold VanDusen, Stacy Adams, and Aron Strouse. Caroline has 3 sisters who are still alive Linda Kauffman, Una Hemstreet and Sue Frank. There are 27 grandchildren, 72 great grandchildren, and 14 great great grandchildren. Caroline was proceeded in death by her parents Theodore and Mildred Piper. Her brothers and sisters Shirley Selvey, Roberta Davis, Dorothy Sandstrom, Nellie Davis. Mildred Chambers, Pat Hart, Ted Eichelberger, Jenny Frank, Kris Karcher. 2 previous husbands Clarence Cox Jr, Harold VanDusen and 4 grandchildren Peggy, Sammy (Scooter), Dustin and Katlyn. Memorial service will be June 7th at 2:00 PM at Liberty Baptist Church, 711 E Federal, Shawnee Okla.
