Obituary

Long-time Shawnee resident Carolyn Sue (Tiger) Blanchard, 71, took her final walk on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 in Oklahoma City.

Carolyn was born on March 2, 1953 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Solomon and Sarah (Thompson) Tiger. She spent the majority of her life in Pottawatomie County. Baptized as a young teen, she enjoyed traveling to other churches to worship and visit with extended family and friends, especially in later years. Besides cheering on the Oklahoma Sooners, she spent her leisure time at a local gaming facility of her choice, donating to respective Tribes' education funds.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Charles Tiger; sisters Eva Lara and Penny Farmer; plus grandchildren Darrien Joseph and Skye Mone'L.

Survivors include: three sons, Joseph and Twyla Blanchard, Tecumseh; Tony Blanchard, Newalla; and Jerry Blanchard, Shawnee; brothers Charles Dewayne Lasley, Shawnee; Matthew DelRay Scott, Tulsa; sisters Teresa Wise, Meeker; Marilyn Imsila, Thailand; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.

Pallbearers include: Andrew Ellis, Sean Rigney, Randall Watson, Richard Lasley, Donnie Ray Gibson, and Jimmy Eaton. Honorary Pallbearers include: Leroy Ellis, Tom Watson, Danny Watson and Don Murdock.

Services, led by Houston Tiger and Sand Creek Eufaula members, will be held 10:00 A.M. on Friday, May 10th at Sallateeska Baptist Church, 45703 Garretts Lake Road, with burial to follow at Wakolee Cemetery on Brangus Road. Lunch will be provided back at the church, upon conclusion of the funeral. All activities coordinated through Brown Family Funeral Home, McLoud.
