Charlene Yvonne
Lowrey
Mar 12, 1935 — Jul 10, 2026
Charlene Yvonne Lowrey, born March 12, 1935, headed back home to her Lord on July 10, 2026, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of faith, family, and love.
Charlene grew up in Sebastian, Texas, the daughter of John and Gladys Williams. Raised on the family farm, she learned the value of hard work at an early age, helping with the cotton crop and farm responsibilities. She grew up in the Pentecostal faith and, following her marriage, became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her love for the Lord remained at the center of her life, and she always sought to live in a way that reflected her deep and abiding faith.
Charlene was married to her beloved husband, Eugene Paul Lowrey, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Edna Endsley, Marguerite Edwards, and John Raymond Williams.
Charlene will be remembered and deeply missed by her daughter, Janice McMullen and her husband, Roy; her five grandchildren; and her 22 great-grandchildren.
Her grandchildren and their families include Janalisa Kolsut and her children, Jasmine Johnson-Fletcher, Rocco Johnson, Ethan Kolsut, and Frankie Kolsut. Charlene and Frankie shared the special birthday of March 12, and Frankie held an especially memorable place in the family as her 12th great-grandchild at the time of his birth.
She is also survived by her grandson, Jeremy Johnson and his wife, Brittany, and their children, Bentley, Maylee, Royce, and Rubee Johnson; granddaughter, Alayna Townsley and her husband, Patrick, and their children, Gyven, Kyra, Sydney, Nevyn, Ephrym, Flynn, and Rory; grandson, JoRyan Johnson and his wife, Michelle, and their children, Savannah, Jaxon, and Emmett Johnson; and granddaughter, Juliana Fuentes and her husband, David, and their children, Dylan Fuentes, Bronx Kirkland, Isabelle Fuentes, and Cruz Fuentes.
For more than 30 years, Charlene worked as a legal secretary, a profession well suited to her attention to detail and dedication to doing things well. She most recently worked for the Cheek Law Firm in Oklahoma City. Charlene was a perfectionist in the very best sense of the word, and her care and precision could be seen in everything she touched.
Charlene loved gardening and spent countless evenings and weekends working in her yard. Her hard work was evident to anyone who saw it, as she always seemed to have the most beautiful yard. She was also a gifted seamstress who once made her own clothing as well as clothes for Janice. Her talents were lovingly shared with others, and many young mothers were blessed to receive beautiful handmade quilts from Charlene for their newborn babies.
Genealogy was another great passion of Charlene's. She proudly continued the family history work begun by her mother, Gladys, carefully preserving the names, stories, and connections of generations past. Her love of family extended far beyond the present, and she understood the importance of remembering those who came before.
Music also held a special place in Charlene's heart, particularly gospel music. Alongside two of her sisters, she sang as part of the "Williams Sisters." Their voices were even heard on the radio, a treasured part of Charlene's story and a reflection of the faith and music that shaped her early years.
Charlene was always beautifully put together, known for her striking red hair and for never having a hair out of place. Her perfectionism showed not only in her appearance, but in her home, her yard, her work, and the many things she lovingly created with her own hands.
Above all, Charlene loved her family. She had a remarkable way of remembering everyone with a card, a gift, or a thoughtful gesture that let them know they were loved and never forgotten. She treasured her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and the love she poured into her family will continue to be felt for generations.
Most of all, Charlene loved the Lord. Her faith guided her life, shaped the way she cared for others, and gave her strength throughout her years. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that Charlene has headed back home, leaving behind a life beautifully lived and a legacy of faith and love that will never be forgotten.
