Obituary

Our hearts are broken to share that Clyde Lawrence “Larry” Minor Jr., a loving and dedicated husband, father, brother and friend passed away September 1st, 2026 at the age of 71. Larry passed peacefully in the presence of his immediate family members who he cared for most in this world.

Larry was born in Oklahoma City, OK on June 17,1955 to Clyde Minor Sr. and Edna Jo Minor. He grew up in Oklahoma City, OK where he attended Northeast High School and later graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Business from Oklahoma State University.

In his career in his earlier days, Larry was a manager for Eckerd Drug and had his own remodeling business, he loved to build things. For most and the latter part of his life Larry owned a small business with his wife Shelle, where they made many memories together as afamily. Their business took them across Oklahoma and Texas which allowed them to meet and make many friends throughout the years.

Larry was smart and a hard worker who was steadfast in the belief that you had to work for what you wanted in your life. He was a firm believer that you should work hard and play harder.Larry was an avid Lake go-er and enjoyed spending summers on the boat at the lake with his family. He enjoyed cooking/grilling for others and would take every chance he had to smoke meat on his smoker and spend time at home with his family.

As a husband, Larry was Shelle’s anchor in life. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t do. He put up with a lot and had been through the ringer with their shared business. He was a faithful and devoted husband that never left Shelle guessing how much he loved her. His love was endlessand his effort in their marriage was unwavering.

As a father, Larry was dedicated with his whole heart to his two girls. They were his whole world. He spent countless hours at cheer competitions and basketball games cheering themon. He was a loving, devoted, supportive, caring and committed father and was so proud to bea daddy.

As a brother and friend, Larry was witty and funny, he would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it. He loved hard, cared deeply and would do whatever it took to help in any wayhe could.

Left to Cherish His Memory is his wife, Shelle Minor, daughter Jenn Minor, daughter and son inlaw Stephanie and Kyle Roe, brother Jim Minor, sister and brother in law Cindy and Dwight Nuckolls, sister and brother in law Susan and Warren Lundy, mother in law Carolyn Doyle,brother in law Denver “Bud” Claxton, sister and brother in law Dayna and Bill Hardin, sister and brother in law Cheryl and Chris Steinmetz along with multiple cousins, nieces and nephews as well as many friends who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents Clyde Minor Sr. and Edna Jo Minor, sister and brother in law Linda and Paul Ricciotti, sister in law Kelle Claxton, and brother in law Keith White.

Larry’s wish was for a party to celebrate his memory. We ask that you dress in your best beer drinking attire and join us for a short Memorial of his life and stay for the party and Celebration of his Life.
