IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David Leon
Gayler
May 19, 1957 – August 12, 2025
David Leon Gayler, 68, of Earlsboro, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home on August 12, 2025. He was born on May 19, 1957, in Midland, Texas, to Fletcher and Louise Gayler.
David lived a life full of grit, laughter, and love. A true cowboy at heart, he enjoyed ropin', cowboyin', and never turned down the chance to share a cold beer with friends. He was a natural storyteller, known for his humor and the way he could bring a room to life. David was happiest working with his hands, spending time at the casino, and most of all, being surrounded by his family and grandchildren, who brought him endless joy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fletcher and Louise Gayler.
David is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Cathy Gayler of the home; his children, Lindsay Wright and Gunner, Dustin Venable, Trey Lewis and Haley, and James Gayler and Christina, and Nikki Gayler; stepchildren, Stephanie Huett, Crystal Smith and Aaron, Jessie and Cassie Williams, and Billy and Taylor Frantz, Dee and Cal Locke; as well as numerous grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his siblings, Shirley Smith, Don Gayler, Ed Gayler, and Malinda Thomas, along with a host of extended family and friends who will cherish his memory.
David's life was a testament to hard work, strong bonds, and good times. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
