Obituary

Elizabeth "Beth" Elaine Ligon March 20, 1955 - November 15, 2020 Born in Hutchinson, KS to David "Pete" & Betty Peterson, Beth grew up in both Kansas and Tulsa, OK. She graduated from East Central High School in Tulsa, OK, and she attended Tulsa Jr College (now known as Tulsa Community College). She worked for the Tulsa Food Bank and Emergency Infant Services for several years in her youth, where she gained her passion for helping the underprivileged. Beth was a strong, compassionate, loving lady who was willing to help anyone that she was able to, and she would give you the shirt off her back or the food in her cabinets if you needed it. She never turned her back on a sad story or an animal in need of a home. She met her soul mate, Tim, in Tulsa, and moved to Nevada, where she lived for most of her life with him and their 4 boys, until his passing. She then moved back home to Oklahoma, be closer to her family. While she was in Nevada, Beth worked in the casinos, and she also worked as a bus driver. You would often hear her singing "The Wheels on the Bus Go Round and Round" as she was driving down the road. Her favorite bus to drive was the "Short Bus" for the differently abled people. She always made sure that they were well taken care of. Elizabeth is preceded in death by Her parents, David "Pete" & Betty Peterson, of Owasso, OK; Her soul mate, Tim Simpson, of Las Vegas, NV; Her son, Benjamin Simpson, of Las Vegas, NV; Her brother, Wayne Peterson, of Kellyville, OK; Her nephew, Michael Potter of Tulsa, OK; Elizabeth is survived by Her sons Jeffery Peterson, of Tulsa, OK Matthew Ligon and his wife, April, of Shawnee OK John Simpson, of Reno, NV Her sisters Christine Nolan, and her husband Jim, of Westphalia, OK Lisa Blythe, of OKC, OK Her Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and countless friends who all loved her dearly and will miss her endlessly. I'VE CHANGED MY ADDRESS I've changed my address to Heaven I've crossed the Great Divide. I know there's no sorrow or crying, Because I've reached the other side. I am so happy to be here, for the Lord Himself I see. I've changed my address to Heaven, I bid this world goodbye. I now live forever with Jesus in my new home in the sky. I have no burdens or heartaches And from tears I am now free. I've changed my address to Heaven, I'm safe forevermore. For the Lord built a mansion And my name is on the door. You can find us walking together, For where He is, I'll always be. I've changed my address to Heaven, That's the place you'll find me.
