Elma Ruth Colwell, beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2024, in Shawnee, Oklaholma. She was born on January 18, 1940, to  Charlie Harmon and Ruby Odel and is survived by her cherished daughter, Kimberly Colwell.

Elma's life was filled with love and devotion to her family and friends. She was a dedicated mother, known for her warmth, kindness, and nurturing spirit. Her daughter, Kimberly and her son Larry, were the light of her life, and she took great joy in being a loving and supportive mother.

In addition to her daughter, Elma is survived by her sister, Alice Harmon Skiles, and her cousins Sheila Skiles Brady-Toby, Charla Skiles, and Tammy Skiles. She was preceded in death by her son, Larry Colwell, her parents and Allen Smith, and her brother-in-law, Lee Skiles.

Elma had a zest for life and a wide range of interests. She found solace in the pages of books, enjoyed the beauty of nature through gardening, and found relaxation in front of the television or computer screen. Her culinary skills were unmatched, and she delighted in preparing meals for her family and friends.

Elma will be remembered for her vibrant personality, her generous spirit, and her unwavering love for those closest to her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Elma Ruth Colwell touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace, forever in our hearts.
