Francis Eugene Lewis, born October 17, 1947, peacefully passed away on May 23, 2026, surrounded by his beloved family. He lived a life marked by warmth, humor, and an indomitable spirit, leaving behind a legacy cherished by all who knew him.
Francis was renowned for his very humorous personality, often bringing joy and laughter to those around him. Known as a trickster at heart, his playful nature endeared him to family and friends alike. Beyond his wit, he was a man of great skill and dedication, known for his ability to tinker and fix nearly anything with his hands.
He proudly served his country in the army for three years during the Vietnam conflict. His service is a testament to his commitment and bravery, qualities that defined much of his life. After his military service, Francis devoted himself to his passions—hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time outdoors. Above all, he treasured moments spent with his children and family, valuing these bonds as the core of his happiness.
Francis's family was central to his life. He is survived by his loving wife, Jane Lewis, who stood by his side through all seasons. His five children: Jamie Smith, married to Earl; Jessica Lewis; Jerica Richmond, married to Joe; Scott Lewis; and Elizabeth Wolfe. His care and guidance extended to his grandchildren—Amanda, Christina, Jolee, and Hailey—who remember him as a source of laughter and wisdom.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lilla Lewis, whose memory he held dear throughout his life.
Francis Eugene Lewis will be remembered not only for his humor and cleverness but also for his unwavering love and dedication to his family and the simple joys of life. His presence enriched the lives of all who had the privilege to know him. Though he has passed from this world, the mark he left on the hearts of his loved ones will endure forever.
