George “Shorty” Scott Beard departed from this earth on Saturday evening, June 27th, 2026 atthe age of 72 years old. Shorty was born on August 7th, 1953 in Dinuba, California.Shorty spent more than 40 years working as a concrete finisher in Fresno, California. He wasdeeply proud of his work and found fulfillment in building things that would stand the test oftime. His dedication, skill, and unwavering work ethic were evident in everything he did, leavingbehind a legacy of hard work and integrity. In his spare time he cherished every moment spentwith his grandchildren, creating memories through fishing trips, camping adventures, and familyvacations. He had a deep love for football and seemed to have a knack for predicting the winnerlong before the final whistle. Shorty also enjoyed the excitement of horse racing. He treasuredthe time he spent with friends. Whether sharing stories, laughter, or simply enjoying each other’scompany, the friendships he built over the years meant a great deal to him. Above all, hetreasured the time he shared with those he loved, leaving behind countless memories that will beforever cherished.He survived by his children Amy Beard, Georgia Waymire-Beard and her husband JohnWaymire, Michael Cerventez, Kenneth Beard, Adam Beard and his wife Rachelle Beard; BrotherRobert Beard; Grandchildren Cody Carroll, Cheyeanne Waymire, Alyssa Cerventez, LeannMcBride and her husband Dane McBride, Austin Beard, Allyson Beard, and Tyler Waymire. Heis preceded in death by his mother Violet May Hargis, father George Scott Beard Sr., BrotherRon Beard, Brother John Walla and sister Florence Walla.
