Harold Wayne Brooks was born on December 19, 1955 in Ada Oklahoma to Loretta(Cross) & James Brooks.  He passed away on September 19, 2025 in Shawnee, Ok.

He joined the Army in 1974 and attended bootcamp in Ft Polk, Louisiana.  He was stationed in Korea & received an honorable discharge in 1980 from Ft Riley, Kansas.  He was awarded with National Defense Service & Good Conduct Medals, along with being an M-16 Rifle Expert.  He retired from the Ok State Penitentiary in McAlester after 23 years.

He loved to hunt, go to auctions & was a die-hard OU fan.

Harold is survived by sons Timothy(Olga) of Daytona Beach, Florida & Thomas of Enid - Sisters, Donetta Smith(Corky) of Okemah - Carolyn Scott of Moore -  Janet Shadinger(Dan) of Roff - Debbie Hughey of Shawnee - Brothers, Eddie Brooks(Carla) of Bethel Acres & Robert Hughey(Beth) of Swansboro, NC.

He is also survived by grandson, Jeremy Starr(Tara) of  Arpelar, Ok and many cousins, nieces, and nephews who loved him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his mom, Loretta, step-dad Curtis & sister, Patricia.

Celebration of life will be held at Oakman Cemetery at 1pm in Ada, Oklahoma.
