IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Harold Dean
Washburn, Sr.
March 2, 1933 – August 2, 2025
Harold Dean Washburn Sr., born March 2, 1933, to Cle and Della Mae Washburn in Newalla, Oklahoma, passed into the loving arms of his Savior on August 2, 2025. A lifelong resident of the Little Axe area, Harold built his family home with his own hands, where he lived for over 50 years. He dedicated his career to carpentry in Oklahoma City, taking great pride in his membership and eventual retirement from the carpenter's union. For two years, Harold proudly served his country in the United States Army as the Korean War was ending. A devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Little Axe, Harold's faith was the cornerstone of his life. He served the Lord with unwavering commitment and brought joy to others through his love of music. Known for his late-night karaoke phone calls, he delighted family and friends with heartfelt songs, leaving cherished memories. As the beloved patriarch of a large family, Harold's presence will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cle and Della Washburn; sister, Pauline Haley; brothers, Elgie, Arlan "Rip," and Bud Washburn; daughter, Linda Berry; granddaughter, Kristen Pierozak; grandson, Bryan Washburn; and great-grandson, River Jones. Harold is survived by his sister, Betty Stapp of Pink, OK; brother, Willard Washburn of Spencer, OK; daughters, Madeline (James) Blackard of Norman, OK, and Karen (Mike) Vinson of New Braunfels, TX; son, Dean (Christy) Washburn of Perkins, OK; as well as fourteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Brookdale Southwest in Oklahoma City, where Harold spent his final years. There, he enjoyed birthday celebrations, family visits, dancing, piano music, and playful moments with the nursing staff, who provided exceptional care and companionship. Services will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 12:00 PM at New Life Church, 1231 E 10th St, Shawnee, OK 74801.
