Helen Utilla Newby passed away on September 8, 2026, in Choctaw, Oklahoma, surrounded by her family. She was born on February 6, 1942, and will be remembered with love for the warmth she brought to those around her and for the joy she found in life’s simple pleasures.

Helen enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo, and, above all, spending time with her family. Those who knew her will remember the happiness she found in being with the people she loved most and the many memories created through those shared moments.

She is survived by her children, Brenda Brand and Joe Brand, Paul Buchanan, Eric Buchanan, and Stephanie Buchanan. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Branita Jayne, Jami Burns, Codi Crabtree, and Amy Buchanan, along with her brother, Ted Eaton, and her sisters, Ann Bieber and Penny Inghan. Each of them carries forward cherished memories of Helen and the love she gave so freely.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Newby; her brother, Ricky Eaton; and her sister, Mary Trowbridge. Their memories remained an important part of her life and will continue to be held close by those who loved them all.

A graveside service for Helen Utilla Newby will be held on September 12, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at New Hope Cemetery, Oklahoma 18, Meeker, Oklahoma 74855.

Helen will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends. Her life was a blessing to those who knew her, and her memory will remain in their hearts.
