Jan Ruth Melton Leger Spain Sunrise, Sunday June 9, 1957 Sunset, Saturday February 12, 2022 64-year-old Jan Ruth Melton Leger Spain was born to Billie Joe Melton and Dorothy Magdalene Bodey Melton on June 9, 1957 and she went home to her Lord and Savior on February 12, 2022.
Jan was # 5 of 8 children. Actually, since mothers (Dorothy and Mary) married brothers (Bill and Shawn) there were 4 more children added to the mix of double cousins, but all throughout their lives they considered themselves brothers and sisters.
Jan met and married the love of her life, David Leger and they had 5 children, Joshua David, Kristina, Jennifer, Kimberly and Pamela (PK).
Jan was the first child in her family to attain an Associate Degree of Business from Rose State College in Midwest City, Oklahoma. As proud of this accomplishment as she was of her degree, she was prouder to be a wife, mother and grandmother, sister and friend.
Jan was proceeded in death by her husband David, infant son, Joshua David Leger, daughter Jennifer Louise Leger Waring, parents Dorothy and Bill Melton, maternal and paternal Grandparents, 2 brothers, Billy Ray and Joe Leroy Melton, 3 sisters, Peggy Ann Melton Harvey, Kathy Melton and Billie June Melton Raymond Langston.
She is survived by her children Joshua, Kristina, and Kimberly Leger, and Pamela (PK) Leger-Dennis. 13 grandchildren: Johnny Leger, Christian Leger-Stone, Brianna Leger, Laith Todd Leger, Jacob King, Jaden Henderson, Isaiah Leger-Stone, Paige and Allystar (Ally) Waring and (their dad, Erik Waring), Grayson Leger, Katrina, Destiny and Kaytlyn Champlin and 3 great grandchildren, Brianna and Sophia King and Rosanna Champlin. Sisters Kay Randall and husband Oscar, Marilyn Bell-Staggs and husband Jimmy, double cousins Marilyn Stroud, Richard Melton, Shirley Northcliff and Robert Melton, along with numerous other family friends and loved ones.
