Jerry Wayne Dowell was born on August 23, 1936 in Maud, Oklahoma to Eugene and Madge Dowell. Jerry went to be with his Lord on May 21, 2018 in McLoud, Oklahoma at the age of 81. Jerry was a hardworking and Godly man who strived to live each day for God and others. Jerry was a proud graduate of Macomb High School and continued his education at East Central University to receive his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees. Jerry married the love of his life, Barbara, on April 25, 1960. Jerry dedicated 31 years of his life to McLoud Public Schools where he began as a classroom teacher and ultimately served as the Junior High Principal. Jerry served as an elder in the McLoud Church of Christ and loved spending time with his family. Preceding Jerry in death are his parents, E.L. and Madge Dowell, and brother, David Dowell. Left to mourn his passing are his beloved wife, Barbara Dowell of McLoud, his three sons, Douglas and wife Sheri Dowell of Jones, Greg and wife Amanda Dowell of Georgetown, Texas, and Kevin and wife Rebecca Dowell of Piedmont, as well as his two brothers, Kenneth and wife Mary Dowell of Holdenville and Gene Lee and wife Carol Dowell of Blaine, Washington. In addition, there are seven grandchildren, one grandson-in-law and a host of other family and friends who remain. Services for Jerry Dowell will be held Friday, May 25, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Christ in McLoud, Oklahoma. Interment will be at Prairie View Cemetery in Macomb. Services entrusted to Brown's Family Funeral Home of McLoud.
