John Thomas Stewart Jr., of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025, in Oklahoma City at the age of 53. Born on July 23, 1971, in Shawnee to John and Clarice Stewart, John was a proud Oklahoman through and through—rooted deeply in faith, family, and the great outdoors.

John was known for his kind heart, strong hands, and peaceful spirit. He found joy in the simple things—spending time on the farm, caring for his beloved chickens, and soaking in nature's quiet moments while hunting or fishing. He especially treasured time with his family and lit up whenever he was with his granddaughter, Evie, who affectionately called him "Papa Hippi." His love for his family was unwavering, and he was always happiest surrounded by those he loved.

He is survived by his three cherished children: Kaitlin Stewart, Kassidy Stewart, and Brody John Stewart; his precious granddaughter, Evie Stewart; and one grandbaby on the way. He also leaves behind his sister, Tama John Webber, and many beloved extended family members including Uncle Les and Jo Ann Stewart, Aunt Helen and John Reed, and Aunt Kathryn Forrester.

John was preceded in death by his loving parents, John and Clarice Stewart, and his sister, Laura McAfee.

To know John was to love him. His legacy of love, laughter, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of those who knew him best.
