Joyce Layne Hansell entered this life on April 20, 1929, to William Clyde and Edna Marie Jackson Layne in Nashville Tennessee. Joyce went to be with her Lord on April 26, 2023, in the comfort of her home at the age of 94, surrounded by her family.

Joyce was a long time member of the Donelson First Baptist Church in Donelson, Tennessee. She was a devoted Christian who enjoyed completing her crossword puzzles and was a very organized  person. In her early years, she loved to go ballroom dancing with her husband.

Preceding Joyce in death are both of her parents, her husband Paul Melton Hansell, two brothers; David Layne and William "Little Billy" Layne Jr. and one sister Dorothy Layne Simms. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Elaine Hansell Hawkins and husband Charles of Shawnee; her grandchildren, Christopher, Audrey, and Jonathan Hawkins; her cousins, Jane and Gene Whaley of Nashville; her cousins Bill Bartlett of Nashville and Tom Bartlett of Alabama; and cousins Kimberly Whaley Morgan and her husband Prentice Morgan of Hendersonville, TN, and many other family and friends that will cherish her memory.
