Margaret Karen Riggle ( Wood) was born on August 10, 1943 in Lebanon, Missouri to Leo and Faye (Maxine) Wood. Karen entered into eternal rest on February 1, 2021 in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 77. Karen grew up on a farm in rural Laclede County, Missouri. She attended school at Rippy (a one-room school house) through 8th grade, then Lebanon High School in Lebanon Missouri. She met Edd Riggle in Lebanon and they were married on May 4, 1963. After his service in the U.S. Army they moved to Asher, Oklahoma. During their 40 years together, they resided in Oklahoma City, Lebanon, MO and Yukon, OK, then retiring to Asher in 2003. Karen was a homemaker for several years and later worked as a cook. She especially enjoyed her time cooking at a retirement home and at the Senior Citizen's Center in Asher where she had many friends. Everyone was welcome at her table - for a meal or a bottomless cup of coffee and conversation. She was an avid reader, garage saler, Solitaire player, and crafter. Above all, Karen loved spending time with her family and friends, laughing and reminiscing. She was the greatest mom ever, and not just to her own kids. Karen was preceded in death by her husband, both her parents, and her brothers, Lee Wayne Wood and David Wood. She is survived by her four children, Jana Donnelly and husband Stephen, Deborah Shepard and husband Bob, Eddie Riggle, Amanda Riggle, and her grandson, Robert Shepard as well as many beloved brothers/sisters in law, nieces and nephews. A celebration of Karen's life will be held on March 24, 2021, 11:00 am, at the Wanette Cemetary in Wanette Oklahoma.
