Obituary

Maria Patricia “Patty” Harris passed away on April 26, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with ALS. Though the disease claimed her life, her victory was found in her faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.Patty was born in Juárez, Mexico. She attended law school at Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez, where she pursued her passion for justice and went on to serve as a Municipal Judge in her hometown. In 1991, she married the love of her life, Don, and later immigrated to the United States, where she proudly became a U.S. citizen.Patty continued her lifelong commitment to helping others through her work with the Department of Human Services in Bridgeport, California. After retiring, she remained devoted to service by working at Renown Hospital as a patient advocate until her full retirement in 2021.Patty had an unmatched love for life. She loved to dance, celebrate, and most of all, cherish her family. As she and Don built their life together, their daughters, Diana and Julie, became the center of her world. She took immense pride in every milestone and moment of their lives—truly the original “mama bear.”She had a remarkable gift for bringing people together. Her home was always open—whether for a meal, a celebration, or simply a visit—and she made everyone feel welcome and loved. Patty especially treasured time spent at the lake with family and friends, as well as trips home to El Paso, where she enjoyed dancing, sharing meals, and, on occasion, a few shots of tequila. Her vibrant spirit and joyful presence could light up any room and make any gathering unforgettable.Patty is survived by her devoted husband of 35 years, Don Harris; her loving daughters, Diana and Julie Harris; her mother, Victoria Terrazas; her sisters, Martha, Betty, Graciela, and Daniella; and her brother, Francisco. She was preceded in death by her father, Luis Terrazas.A celebration of Patty’s life will be held on June 6, 2026, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the family residence, 9516 Megans Way, McLoud, Oklahoma 74851.A Funeral Mass will take place on June 9, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church in El Paso, Texas, followed by interment at Mt.
