Mark enjoyed spending time with his dog, Buddy who he called his best friend. He was an active truck driver and dedicated 10 years to truck driving.

Preceding Mark Buchanan in death is his father, Windel Buchanan, his grandparents, and his step father, Ivan Newby. Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Helen Newby of Choctaw, his sister, Brenda and spouse Joe of Newalla, and two brothers, Warren Eris Buchanan and spouse Stephanie of Choctaw and Paul Buchanan of Del City.
