Melissa Rae Dethrow, born on February 10, 1971, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, peacefully entered into rest on March 15, 2024, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was surrounded by the love of her family as she transitioned from this life to the next.
Melissa was preceded in death by her beloved brothers, Joe, Jeff, and Stacy Brown, her grandmother Ruby Brown, and her cherished parents, Glenda Ann Brown and Johnie Brown. Their memory will forever live on in her heart.
Left to cherish her memory are her adoring sons, Tylar and Zach Dethrow, and her beloved daughters, Leighton and Arianna Dethrow. Melissa is also survived by her caring brothers, as well as nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends who will deeply miss her presence.
Melissa's life was defined by love, family, and joy. She found immense fulfillment in being a devoted mother and grandmother, finding her greatest achievement in nurturing and caring for her children and grandchildren. Melissa had a heart full of love, always putting her family first.
Melissa had a zest for life and found joy in simple pleasures. She loved playing bingo with her dear mother, Glenda Ann Brown, and had a passion for dancing, quilting, and sewing. Melissa's creative spirit was evident in her love for arts and crafts, where she poured her heart into each project she undertook. She found great happiness in teaching and spending quality time with her grandchildren, leaving behind beautiful memories for them to cherish.
In her leisure time, Melissa enjoyed indulging in her hobbies, including shopping, watching crime shows, and exploring antiques. These activities brought her much joy and relaxation throughout her life.
Melissa Rae Dethrow will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for her family will forever remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
