Melissa Sue Hanks, proudly known as grandma/meme (mimi) passed away at the age of 45 on December 22, 2024.

Born on January 27, 1979, Melissa was the only child to John and Carla Nelson of McLoud. Melissa enjoyed spending time at the lake with her family. Recently, Jimmy and Melissa followed a huge dream of theris where they moved away from the town they fell in love in and moved to Eufaula to always enjoy the lake nights whenever they wanted.

Melissa is survived by her husband Jimmy Hanks, her parents John and Carla Nelson, her children, Michael Hanks, and his wife Alyson, Hannah Hanks and her spouse Dylan Lehenbauer, and Izabelle Hanks. Melissa was an incredibly proud grandma to her four grandchildren. Avery and Kyree Hanks, Rosalee Lehenbauer, and Kayan Hanks.

Melissa will greatly be missed by many friends and family. Her family will pass on her love by spending time at the lake and on the water as much as they can during the summer.
