Olevia Gwendolyn Gist was born on February 4, 1989 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was the cherished daughter of S.T. and Nancy Gist. Olevia embarked on her educational journey in Haskell, Oklahoma. Where she attended elementary school, and later graduated from Haskell High School. During her school years, Olevia showcased her exceptional athleticism. She participated in a wide array of sports, including basketball, baseball, track, and even becoming a member of the cheerleading squad.
At a tender age, Olevia embraced her faith by accepting Christ into her life, becoming a valued member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Haskell, Oklahoma. Later in life, as she moved to Oklahoma City, she found her spiritual home at the First Baptist Church of Hicks Addition in Spencer, Oklahoma, where she remained a member until her heavenly calling.
Olevia used her God-given talent as a hairstylist, operating a small hair shop from her home as a proud small business owner. She accumulated various certifications, including a cosmetology license, CLEET certification, and personal care aide certification.
As a single mother of four beautiful children, Olevia embodied kindness , care, and selflessness, consistently prioritizing her family's needs above her own. She exuded independence and unwavering faith, instilling in her children the values of family, hard work, and righteousness.
In her leisure time, Olevia found solace and joy in singing and appreciating a diverse range of music. Her culinary skills were exceptional, and she relished cooking, often sharing these delectable moments with her children. Beyond her love for her children, she cherished the warmth of family gatherings and spending time with her siblings.
Olevia is preceded in death by her beloved parents, S.T. and Nancy Gist, her father, Speedy, and her two brothers, Derrick and Dwight Gist. She leaves behind a legacy of love and four beautiful children: Jaidon Gist, Jalaiyah Gist, Jamiyah Gist, and Janiyah Gist. Her mother, Ladonna Jones, remains to cherish her memory, as do four sisters: Ladonna Jones, Dayjoun Gist, Alashia Gist, and Ashly Gist, along with three brothers: Santana Jones, Victor Jones, and Robert Jones. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends who were touched by her presence. Olevia's spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
