Phillis "Kay" Lopez passed away in the early morning of August 15th, 2026 at home peacefully. Kay was born in Warm Springs, AR to Herman and Lucy Blackwell on March 5th, 1947. Kay was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joe Lopez, her youngest daughter Robin Rene Handy, and her parents, Herman and Lucy Blackwell.She is survived by her son David Dewayne Handy and her daughter Debra Denise Orr Her hobbies included crochet, bingo, casinos, playing pool, shooting darts, country and western music. She loved to dance and was quite good at it. She spent most of her working life in the nursing profession. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. We are full of gratitude for the love and kindness shown by the family, friends, neighbors and the town of Harrah during this difficult time. The family wishes to thank the staff of SSM Hospice for their compassionate care and support for the family. Kay Lopez will be deeply missed and forever remembered in our hearts.
