Richard Estorga was born on June 15th, 1939, in Los Angeles, California. He passed from this life on May 24th, 2026 after a 3 year battle with Alzheimer’s and a very short battle with cancer.
He spent his childhood in Pueblo, Colorado and Eloy, Arizona. He gave his life to the Lord in 1955, and began preaching on the streets shortly thereafter. Richard graduated from Eloy, Arizona high school in 1957 and was licensed as a Pentecostal Holiness minister in 1957.
He moved to Bethany, Oklahoma in 1960 to pursue a degree in theology. That’s where he met and married his wife Francis Fay Turnbow in June of 1960. He attained his junior college diploma in 1961, and his bachelors degree in theology from Southwestern Pentecostal Holiness College in 1963.
He pastored in Cromwell and Tuttle Oklahoma during the 1960 ‘s and early 70’s.
He returned to college, achieving a BS in education in 1972, even though the Bethany Nazarene college administration admonished him for trying to convert the Nazarenes to Pentecostal Holiness beliefs. Richard and his family moved to McLoud, Oklahoma where he started teaching 6th grade and coaching 5th and 6th grade basketball. Once again, he returned to further his education, attaining a masters degree in guidance and counseling in 1978, and a masters of secondary school administration in 1985. He was the McLoud junior high counselor and assistant principle until 1988. Richard and Francis then moved to Dustin, Oklahoma where he was the school principal until he retired from public school service in 1990.
He then worked for Seminole junior college supporting at risk students through the upward bound program. Richard taught at OSUOKC from 1998 to 2003, when he decided to retire for good when Francis retired from teaching as well.
Richard pastored several churches over his 5 decades of service to the Lord, in Tucson, Az, Cromwell, Tuttle, McLoud, Oklahoma City, Midway and Shawnee, Ok.
Richard was preceded in death by his mother and father, Gilberto and Elizamar Estorga, his brothers David, Sam and Steve, and his sister Barbarita Quema. His wife of 61 years, Francis, passed away in 2022.
He is survived by two sons, Rick (Debi) of McLoud, and Mark (Kim) of Oklahoma City, 2 granddaughters, Stephanie Brown and Kayla Martin (Zack) of McLoud, and great grandchildren Ruby and Darius Martin. He is survived by his sister Jennie, and brothers Joe, Gilbert, and Alfred, and many nieces and nephews.
