Robert “Leon” Bruno, age 88, and a resident of Harjo, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026.

Leon was born on April 2, 1938, in Concho Indian Hospital, Concho, Oklahoma, to Mike and Era Mae Bruno. He married Veta Lois Horton on September 8, 1961, in Cashion, Arizona. Leon served as Citizen Potawatomi Chairman from 1982–1983. He owned the B&B Electric for 20 years as an electrical contractor.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Veta Bruno of the home; his daughter, Sally Foster and husband Allen Foster of Harjo, Oklahoma; daughter Stacey Bruno of the home; son Rob Bruno and wife Corrina of Earlsboro, Oklahoma; son Scott Bruno and wife Wanda of Harjo, Oklahoma; one brother, Anthony Bruno of Camp Verde, Arizona; one sister, Louise Hasterman of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren: Michael Palmer, Sarah Collins, Morgan Palmer, Robert Prewett, JR Bruno, Levi Bruno, Rietta Bruno, and Olivia Hernandez; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, friends, and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his father, Mike Bruno; mother, Era Mae Peery Bruno; brothers Carl, Tom, and Bill; sisters Francis, Barbara, and Zona Gail.
