It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Robert 'Butch' Duane Pritchard Sr., who went to be with the Lord peacefully at his home in Bristow, Oklahoma, Saturday, June 27th, 2026, at the age of 80. He was born to Lowell A. and Elsie Sue Pritchard on January 19th 1946, in Carnegie, Oklahoma.
Butch began his career with THRogers Lumber Co. in 1967, and through hard work and dedication, he advanced through the company becoming a store manager. He transferred to Bristow in 1985. After 42 years of service, he retired in 2009. Butch never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand. His love of God, sense of humor and unwavered devotion to his family will be remembered by everyone who knew him.
In his younger years, he served his community as a volunteer with Civil Defense, firefighter, and EMT; assisting in the start of up of Emergency Services. He also had a passion for coaching youth baseball, encouraging and mentoring countless young athletes along the way.
After retirement, he found joy in spending time on his tractor, fishing, gardening, and raising Great Danes. More than anything, Butch treasured the time he spent with family. He shared a loving marriage with the love of his life, Joy Darlene; together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Butch is survived by his beloved wife, Joy Darlene Pritchard of Bristow, his daughter Shellie Brown and husband Don of Duncan; his sons, Robert Duane Pritchard Jr. and wife Cheryl, Christopher Michael Pritchard and wife Delana, and Brien Scott Pritchard and wife Melinda, all of Bristow. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews as well as Papa to 18 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Lowell and Elsie Pritchard; his brothers, Charlie, Don, Ronald, and Herman Pritchard, his sister Vida Wasinger and grandson Gavin Long.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, July 18th, 2026, at Kohler Villa Event Center, 305 Main Street, Depew, Oklahoma. Family and friends are invited to attend as they gather to celebrate Butch's life.
Though he will be deeply missed, Butch's kindness, dedication, sense of humor, and unwavering love for the Lord and his family will continue to live on in all who knew him.
