Obituary

Ronald D. Terry, 79, of Shawnee, OK, passed away November 1, 2018, after a lengthy illness. He is a Navy Veteran, he served our country during the Vietnam Conflict. He later moved to Tucson, AZ, where he met the love of his life, Betty Lacy. They just celebrated 41 years of marriage in June. He is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Lela Terry, and his brother, Gordon. He is survived by his wife, Betty, and his 3 stepchildren, Tim Ward of Tucson, AZ, Cheryl Meston of Colorado Springs, and Terry Parker of Shawnee, OK. He was also a grandfather to 7 grandchildren and great grandfather to 11 great grandchildren. Ron retired from Motorola in 1998 and moved to Shawnee, OK, in 1999. He loved traveling and visiting his extended family creating wonderful memories during this time. Many friends were made at the Shawnee Flea Market over the last 9 years. His best friend, Jeff, and his wife, Tammy, were among those he befriended. Betty is very grateful for their love and time spent with Ron during his illness. Service will be held at Lifeline.Church, 545 N. Beard on Friday, November 9th, at 10:30 a.m. Pastors Carol and Louis Hopper have been good friends for many years. One of Ron's last requests was for Pastor Carol to officiate his Memorial Service. Ron's family would like to thank Brown's Family Funeral Home in McLoud, OK, for their exceptional care and compassion. His family would also like to express their heartfelt appreciation for the wonderful staff at Angelic family hospice. Their care, compassion and support was amazing.
