Royce DeWayne Gentry entered this life October 19, 1956 and entered heaven January 27, 2025.  Dewayne, as he preferred to be called, was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Royce and Roberta Gentry.  DeWayne was preceded in death by both parents and his sister Phyllis.

DeWayne graduated from Shawnee High School and had a long successful career at GeorgFischer – Central Plastics.  He had the ability to help anyone in need and approached life with a kind and reverent heart.  He particularly enjoyed watching different sports and was an avid supporter of the local high school athletes.

DeWayne also was a man of faith with a special burden for mission work.  He was a quiet man who except for his more than average height could go missing in a crowd.  He was a deep thinker and a dependable loyal friend and mentor to all who knew him.

He is survived by the Charles Smith family that unofficially adopted him at an early age, many cousins and lifelong girlfriend Elizabeth Dickson.

The viewing will be held at Victory Chapel Church of God -13513 US 177, Shawnee, Oklahoma January 30, 2025 from 6 to 8 p.m.  The funeral service will be held January 31 at 2 p.m.  A meal will be served before the service at noon at the Church of God Chapel, 348402 East US 62, Prague, Oklahoma.  The service will be live-streamed on the Prague Church of God YouTube channel.
