Shirley Loyce Hopkins (Chancellor), 81, of Choctaw, Oklahoma, passed away on December 31, 2023. Born on December 20, 1942, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, Shirley was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and great aunt.
Shirley was a warm-hearted woman who cherished moments spent with her family. She had a contagious laughter that could light up any room. Shirley had a deep love for music and found joy in listening to melodies that touched her soul. She also had a special place in her heart for cats, and her home was always filled with their playful presence.
In her career, Shirley dedicated over 20 years as a Surgery R.N. at Shawnee Regional Hospital. Her compassionate nature and skillful care touched the lives of countless patients.
Outside of work, Shirley found solace in her hobbies. She had a green thumb and took pride in her beautiful garden, nurturing it with love and care. Sewing was another passion of hers, as she enjoyed creating custom purses with her skilled hands. But above all, she had a heart for feline companions and devoted her time to caring for many kitty cats.
Shirley will be deeply missed by her daughter, Debbie Clark, her granddaughters, Camren and Kaylen Clark, her sister-in-law, Betty Chancellor, and her nieces and nephews, Sheila Chancellor, Terry Chancellor, Henry and Delaina Coleman, John and Anita Morgan, Mike and Jim Terney as well as her great nieces and nephews. . She was preceded in death by her parents, D.T. and Marie Chancellor, her siblings, Del and Mary Chancellor, Duane Chancellor, and Gene and Joyce Terney, as well as her nieces and nephews, Mary Jo Walker, Monte Chancellor, and Lori Cranford.
Shirley's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her infectious laughter, and her dedication to her profession. May she rest in peace
