Obituary

Treva Lavon Barclay, born on October 8, 1935, in Granby, Missouri, went to be with her Lord on July 15, 2026. Treva’s long and remarkable life, rooted in her hometown and strengthened by her faith, leaves a legacy of warmth, creativity, and deep affection for family and friends.

Treva’s journey began on the farm in Granby, where her love for animals first blossomed. She cherished her early years, always fondly recalling the adventures she shared with her daddy, especially the memorable nights spent coon hunting. These formative experiences nourished her resilient spirit and fostered the imagination that became a hallmark of her personality.

A talented poet, Treva found great joy in writing verses that reflected her keen observations and gentle soul. Her creativity extended into storytelling—she was well known among her grandchildren for her ability to weave enchanting tales that ignited their imaginations and filled their hearts with wonder. Family gatherings would often find the grandkids nestled around her, captivated by stories that transported them to magical worlds, a testament to the biggest imagination in the family.

Treva was also an avid collector of dolls and stuffed animals, treasuring each one as a symbol of innocence and delight. She could frequently be found enjoying her favorite westerns, drawing comfort and inspiration from their timeless stories of courage and perseverance. Her home was always open to fellowship; she truly cherished moments spent with others, and her generosity of spirit made everyone feel welcomed and loved.

As a lover of all animals, Treva’s compassion knew no bounds, extending not only to people but to every creature she encountered. She took great pride in her rural upbringing and never lost her appreciation for farm life, which remained a central theme throughout her wonderful stories and recollections. She truly enjoyed the opportunity to appear on national tv on comedy central in the episode no kidding as the rock and roll grandma.

Treva is survived by her devoted daughter, Audry Bliss; her loving sons, Mark Bliss and Mardy Bliss; and by Jill, spouse of a cherished family member. She leaves behind a joyful legacy in her grandchildren: Amber, Rick, Mandy, Ashlie, Aaron, Emilie, Kaylie, Natalie, Sara, and Gunnar. Also surviving is her beloved sister, Babe French. Each of them carries forward her spirit and the values she held dear—imagination, kindness, and a deep love for togetherness. Along with 11 Great Grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her mother Zena, her father Audrie Barclay, and other family members who went before her.

Treva Lavon Barclay will be remembered fondly by those whose lives she touched. Her creativity, storytelling, and love will be cherished by family and friends for generations to come.
