Tyler Lendon York, born on November 22, 1994, in Ada, Oklahoma, passed away on April 9, 2026, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He departed this life surrounded by the love and comfort of his family and his wife.
A proud graduate of McLoud High School, Class of 2013, Tyler was a dedicated athlete who embraced football, basketball, and powerlifting with vigor and determination. His commitment extended beyond sports; at the tender age of nine, he was saved and baptized, marking a profound spiritual milestone that would remain a guiding light throughout his life.
Tyler’s life was woven with joy, laughter, and deep friendships. Known as the joker of the family, his huge sense of humor and genuine laugh brought light to all who knew him. Friends and family will cherish memories of listening to music beside crackling bonfires, watching him play ball with passion, and seeing his lifelong friendships endure since high school. His love for music and sports was further expressed in his enthusiasm for football and basketball, along with treasured times spent relaxing at the river with friends.
Above all, Tyler cherished his role as a father. His love for his son Hendrix York was a defining part of his life’s story, reflecting the depth of his character and the tenderness of his heart.
Tyler leaves behind a devoted family who survive him and carry forward his legacy. His beloved wife, Lauren York, shares in the profound loss. His son, Hendrix York, remains a shining light in his life’s narrative. Tyler is also survived by his parents, Kevin and Amy York, and Jeff and Keri Hutchens, who stand as pillars of support in this difficult time. His loving grandparents Ronnie and Melva York, and Mary Miller, along with his siblings Melanie Carter and husband Jermiah, Hailey Hutchens, Jennifer York, Hope York, Tiffany York, and Akai York, continue to remember his warmth and spirit. The family circle is further extended by his aunt and uncle, Michael and Christina Flemming of Shawnee, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews who hold him dear in their hearts. He was Loved by all his in laws and was considered a second family.
Tyler was preceded in death by his grandparents, Donnie Branscum and Jr., and Mildred Price, whose memories he carried with reverence.
His passing leaves a void that resonates deeply, yet his vibrant spirit, humor, and love remain immortal in the hearts of those blessed to have known him. Tyler Lendon York’s life was a testament to determination, joy, and love—a beacon that will continue to shine brightly in the memories of all who loved him.
