Obituary

Vickie Lynn Richardson was born to Clentell Richardson and Edith Young on May 16, 1948 in Oklahoma City Oklahoma She was the only daughter and youngest child born to this union. Vickie was introduced to and accepted Christ as her Savior at a very early age. As a good steward over her later years of her life, Vickie attended the Church of the Living God, Temple #355 with her daughter-in-law as her health allowed. She boldly confessed her hope in Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. Vickie attended both Central High School and Douglass High School of Oklahoma City, OK. She received her GED from the Skill Center of Oklahoma City. Throughout her life, Vickie worked for the Department of Human Services and the Oklahoma County Detention Juvenile Center. Vickie was blessed to be the mother of four children Shawn, Larry, Valerie and baby Jason, who proceeded her in death. She enjoyed life as it came. No challenge she faced would hold her back. Vickie loved helping others...anyone in need. Her greatest joy came from "baby-sitting" her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Vickie waged a courageous battle that drew her and her family closer to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As a result, on Thursday, August 20th Vickie victoriously answered the call of Almighty God transitioning from the toils of this life to eternity in the presence of her precious Savior. Vickie is celebrating a reunion with her parents, brothers: Jimmy and Lonnie and son Jason. Celebrating her life, cherishing her legacy and memory are her three children: Shawn (Swarnnie), Larry and Valerie all of Oklahoma City; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews. Vickie also leaves a special cousin and sister Ann "Little Bit" Smith, who tended to her almost daily and a loving daughter-in-law Swarnnie as well as many others people that loved and supported her throughout her extended illness and transition.
