IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William Manyard
Martin
February 24, 1942 – December 1, 2024
William Manyard Martin entered this life on February 24, 1942, in Gore, Oklahoma, born to William and Wanda Martin. On December 1, 2024, William peacefully entered into rest at the age of 82, in the comfort of his home in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
William shared 58 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Lana Joan Martin, whom he wed on March 19, 1966, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Together, they built a life rooted in love, hard work, and devotion, eventually settling on a farm in Meeker, where they raised their family.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his wife Joan, and their children: Valerie DeAnn Stiver and her husband Mike, William David Martin, Merle Duane Martin and his wife Julia, and Mandy Denese Keil and her husband Jeremy.
He was the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren, who brought him immense joy: Skyler, Austin, Abriella, Annika, Asher, Victoria, and Aubree. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of extended family and friends.
William was preceded in death by his parents, William and Wanda Martin; his brother Charles Martin; sisters Lavon Jones and Sylvia McKee; and brother Eugene "Wimpy" Martin.
A man of many talents and passions, William loved the outdoors and could often be found deer hunting, fishing, or spending time on his cherished farm in Meeker. He had a deep appreciation for Chevy trucks, teaching his family how to fix cars and trucks, and was skilled in the upholstery trade. His happiest moments were spent watching his family play sports, race cars or any activity his family especially his grandkids were involved in. William enjoyed celebrating the accomplishments of his grandchildren, whom he adored.
William's life was a testament to the values of hard work, love for family, and a connection to nature. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
