Charles David Howard

Charles David Howard, known to family and friends as Dad, Uncle Dave, Painter Dave, or Sir Charles David, passed away March 2, 2023.  Dave entered the world at a whopping 3 lbs, 1 ½ oz on January 16th, 1965. All who knew him would agree that he was the catch of a lifetime.

Dave was dedicated to his family. He could always be found at the kids’ table during gatherings, collecting stories to share wherever he went.  He successfully convinced every niece and nephew that they were his favorite. Dave was an avid fisherman who spent countless hours in pursuit of his next big fish and posing for photos with his trophies. He enjoyed the Kansas City Chiefs play football, and often placed bets with his nephews to “keep it interesting.”

Dave was proceeded in death by his mother Virginia Howard, sister Patricia Thorpe, and brothers Larry Gentry, Gary Gentry, and Johnny Gentry. He is survived by his daughter Kristy Rose, grandsons John and Aiden Rose, his sister and best friend Ida Howell, girlfriend Barbara Evans, and three generations of nieces and nephews. His encouraging words of wisdom and jokes of the day will be dearly missed.
