Connie Mitcham Obituary

Connie Lavonne Mitcham, age 81, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday March 1st, 2023 with her family by her side. Connie was born on December 10th, 1941 in Shawnee Oklahoma to Alvie Virgil and Ora Mae (Wilson) Streeter. Connie had a natural beauty inside. She was the prom queen and basketball homecoming queen at US Grant where she graduated from in 1959.  Soon after she graduated high school, she met and married Chuck and he was deployed to Madrid, Spain where they lived for several years. Connie and Chuck had two beautiful daughters, Kelly and Kathy, however that marriage ended shortly after she purchased an antique pitcher and bowl. A few years later she met and married Charlie in 1970. They went on to have two handsome boys, Chad and Brad.
Connie was the "Jane of all trades." She wore many hats and blessed everyone who crossed her path. She worked tirelessly at Midwest City Hospital, Dub Stone Reality, T.G. Farms, and Newcastle Casino (just to name a few). Connie enjoyed crocheting, cooking, finding the perfect antiques, garage sale-ing, making floral arrangements, and telling stories to her many grandchildren. She took great pride in collecting dolls and bears. Connie and Charlie moved to Newcastle to be closer to her sister, Jenny. Connie enjoyed managing T.G. Farms by planning events and scheduling school field trips for the children. While working there she fell in love with a chicken Henryetta. During her time there every story had something to do with Henryetta. Connie had a love for all animals but she had a special love for her sweet little dog, Isabelle Brooke.

After her late husband passed, Connie found pride in managing Cottage Park LP, where she enjoyed planning bingo and always made sure that everyone made it to the cellar safe until she retired in 2017 due to a cancer diagnosis. Connie had a spitfire personality and a quick wit about her. She was strong willed and had a servant’s heart that showed though even in her last days.
Connie is preceded in death by her parents, Alvie and Ora Mae Streeter, brother Lewis Streeter, ex husband Charles Bleakley, late husband Charles Mitcham, and niece Kim Hibdon. She is survived by her children, Kelly Jordan of Tecumseh, OK, Kathy and husband Ric Heintzelman of OKC, OK, Chad and wife Kelly Mitcham of Newcastle, OK, and Brad and wife Jennifer of Purcell, OK. Her grandchildren, Karis and husband Robert Rodriguez, Kristie Hawkins, Heston Hawkins, Tanner Heintzelman, McKenzie Heintzelman, Cheyenne and Dom Shore, Ethan Mitcham and Zain Mitcham. Great grandchildren Kyle, Cash, Kapri, Stella, Makenna and Xaiver. Sister Virgina and husband Cotton Sanders. Along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.
