Evelyn Thornbrue Obituary

Evelyn Thornbrue was born in Prague, OK on November 10, 1938. She entered into eternal rest on February 16, 2022. She was the loving daughter of Floyd and Mandy Hyatt, the beloved sister of 4 sisters and 4 brothers, the cherished wife of Raymond Thornbrue and the sweetest Mother ever to Eugene and Denise. Evelyn attended Edmond High School where she met Raymond. She lived 22 years of her adult life in sacrifice for our country while Raymond served in the Air Force. She was well traveled and saw this country they protected with the wide eyes of a child. She appreciated the beauty and wonder of nature and enjoyed the simple things in life. She enjoyed writing poetry and she loved her family beyond measure. Her jovial nature, quick wit and easy smile brought joy to so many and will be dearly missed.

Evelyn is survived by her son Eugene Thornbrue (Sandy) of Vero Beach, FL, her daughter Denise Thornbrue Hotson (Everett) of Hopkinsville, KY, her sister Wanda Williams (Ted) of Stillwater, OK. She was blessed with 12 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren, 4 Great Great Grandchildren, and many wonderful nieces and nephews who lovingly helped care for her in these last years, especially Linda Roberts (Carl), Fred Turner (Susan), Paula Wood (Jimmy), Diana Dykes (Rob), Debra Adam (Kent), Kenny Klingaman.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Mandy Hyatt, her brothers James Hyatt, Troy Hyatt, Carl Hyatt, and Glen Hyatt, her sisters, Pearl Turner, Marie Barber, and Pauline Burdick. She was also preceded in death by her devoted husband Raymond Thornbrue and her companion for the past 18 years Richard Buffington.
