Harold Riley Shields a.k.a. Butch, 79, of Harrah, Oklahoma passed away peacefully Tuesday,
January 4, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.
Harold was born in Downy, California to Ray and Dorothy (Roberts) Shields on September 14,
1942. He graduated from McLoud high school in 1960. He then went on to marry his wife of 59
years Janice Elaine king. Together the couple raised five children Steven Ray, Kelly Jo, Shelly
Elaine, James Gregory, and Missy Irene. Throughout his professional career Harold worked for
Fred Jones manufacturing, Anheuser-Busch, and later retired from MBM. Through his relentless
work ethic and dedication he thrived at any job he ever encountered. He didn't have any
hobbies but what he did have was two hands and a passion of a hard days work which would
begin at the crack of dawn and went passed dark. Butch will be remembered for being giving
humble, tolerant, mischievous, onery, and always HUNGRY!
He is preceded in death by his parents Ray and Dorothy Shields of Mcloud.
Those left to cherish his memory is his wife Janice Shields of the home. Son Steve and wife
Donna Shields of Mcloud, Oklahoma, daughter Kelly Shields of Midwest City, Oklahoma,
daughter Shelly and husband Dave Watson of Pryor, Oklahoma, son Jim and wife Shiela Shields of
McLoud, Oklahoma, daughter Missy and husband Mike McCool of McLoud, Oklahoma. 11
grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. His siblings Glenda Pickard of Harrah, Oklahoma,
Jack Shields of Campbell, Texas, DeAnna Gray of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, and Dennis Shields of
Farmington, New Mexico. As well as numerous nephews and nieces.
Daddy/Pappy lived a long and wonderful life. Gone but never forgotten. We love you!
