Obituary

Homer Edward “Ed” Musgrove, a long time resident of Prague, passed away on Sunday, May 15th, 2022 in Prague at the age of 82. Ed was born on August 28th, 1939 at his home in Paden, Oklahoma to Homer Willy Musgrove and Violet Eileen Lakins. Ed had one brother, Robert Musgrove, who he loved dearly. Ed grew up in Paden, Oklahoma and attended Sunrise School. Ed made his career as a manager at Hairs IGA in Henryetta, Oklahoma until he retired in 1988. 

Ed had four children, Denise, Dale, De’na, and Bobby, who were his pride and joy. Ed was always eager to learn new things and would often be found reading the dictionary or encyclopedia with a pen and notepad in hand. Ed enjoyed watching WWE wrestling, crime show documentaries which he tried to help solve, and the World News to keep up with current events. Ed enjoyed taking walks throughout the town, where he never met a stranger. Ed loved all types of food, but really enjoyed pizza, Braums, and Mexican food. Ed was an avid OU fan and was always cheering them on. He loved getting new shirts to wear to show off his Sooner pride. Of all the things that brought him joy, he loved spending time with his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids the most. 

Ed was best described as always smiling, gentle, kind, a ball of fun, the sweetest soul, a great man, and truly one of a kind. Ed loved the Lord and spoke with Him on a daily basis. 

Ed was preceded in death by his son, Edward Dale Musgrove, his parents, Homer Musgrove and Violet Webb, his grandparents, John Henry Musgrove, Florence Edna Weehunt, Beatrice Lakins, and Frank Beck; four half brothers, Lonnie Webb, Jerry Webb, Ricky Webb, and Michael Webb; one half sister, Delores Webb. 

Those left to celebrate his memory are his three children, Denise Ballard and her husband, Steve, of Parkhill, De’na Hubert and her husband, Danny, of Prague, and Bobby Musgrove of Paden. Eight grandchildren, Angel Charles and her husband, Kenneth, of Hulbert, Heaven Phillips and her husband, Chastin, of Parkhill, Jalena Criss and her husband, Kelly, of Shawnee, Austin Hubert and his wife, Terri, of Prague, Trista Riggin and her husband, Brent, of Okemah, Shawna Snyder and her husband, Josh AKA “Stud”, of Prague, Kortni Brannon and her husband, Ronnie, of Parkhill, Kristi Hunter and her husband, Chris, of Hugo; 24 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; many cousins as well as a host a family and friends.
