Jimmie Erwin Bailey “Jim” was born Saturday, Jan 13, 1940 in Paden, OK to Mary Edna and Albert Bailey. He went to heaven peacefully on Sunday, Sept 24, 2023 surrounded by family at his home in Paden, OK.
He married the love of his life, Norma J (Miller) Bailey, on Saturday, May 9, 1959. They lived together in OKC, Bethany, and Yukon, but ultimately settled into life on the family farm in Paden, OK.
Jim Bailey loved his wife, his family, his farm cows, dogs and cats – in that order. He loved to tell stories and spending time with his family. One of his favorite pastimes was to ride his “buggy” surrounded by his loyal dogs around the property looking for flowers to bring to momma , the pecan trees, and hunting baby cows. You could always count on him to lend a helping hand, even if he fussed the whole time. In his younger days, he was a bit of a daredevil with a sense of adventure, which he proudly passed on to his kids, and even some of his grandkids. Jim was mischievous, and an exasperated, “DADDY!” could often be heard coming from his wife Norma, even while she tried to fight a smile. Jim is loved dearly by all of his family and friends, and he will be missed.
He is survived by his loving wife, Norma Bailey, his children, Jimmie D Bailey, Darlena Bailey-Long, Randall and Carol Bailey, Florance and Michael Hudson, with total of 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren (plus one on the way), His siblings, Mary Ellen Ratica, Edward Earl “Frank” Bailey, Vernon Bailey, Richard “Leon” and Judy Bailey, Ruth “Candy” and Paul Newport. Many neices and nephews.
He is preceded by parents Albert and Mary Edna Bailey, brother Charles Bailey, great-grandson Jayden Morado, and great-great-grandson Jaxon Morado.
