Mearl Dee Young

Graveside Services for Mearl Dee Young, 86 of Shawnee, Oklahoma will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Parklawn Memorial Garden in Plainview, Texas. Arrangements under the direction of Brown's Family Funeral Home of McLoud, Oklahoma. Mr. Young passed from this life on December 22, 2021 in Searcy, Arkansas. He was currently living with his daughter and son-in-law Barbara Hill and Carlen Hill. Mearl Dee Young was born on May 15, 1935 to T.Y. and Pearl (House) Young. He was involved in farming and agriculture as well as having a strong love for music whether that be listening, singing, or playing his guitar he enjoyed it all. The center of Mr. Young's life was his family, especially when it came to his grandchildren and the love of his life, LoRetha Fern Lynn Young; who he spent 57 years worth of wonderful memories. Those left to cherish his memory are his children: Gary Lynn Young, Barbara Kay Hill and son-in-law Carlen Hill, and bonus daughter, Amy Gammill, his grandchildren, Stacy Wood and Keenan Hooper. His great grandchildren, Morgan Lynn Miller-Wood, Kaitlyn Grace Wood, Mason Cameron Wood, and Kam Allen Wood. His sister-in-law, LaGay and Jerry James and Brother Billy Tom Young. He is preceded in death by his parents, T.Y. and Pearl Young, his beloved wife, LoRetha Fern Young, and eight siblings, his twin brother Earl Young, Francis Ready, Edgar Young, Carlton Young, G.W. Young, Melvin and Elvin Young, and Margie Pool, and sister Audrey Mahagan. His legacy will remain with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and lots of nieces and nephews.
