Tommy “Tom” Wayne Danker of Meeker was born October 3, 1955 to Delbert Danker and Carol Stingley Helton in Chandler, Oklahoma. He passed this life December 31, 2021 in Shawnee at the age of 66. Tom loved spending time outdoors with his family and friends. One of his favorite outdoor hobbies was to geocache all across the U.S. He completed over 7,100 finds and hid over 60 caches. He loved involving all his family in his passion for geocaching.
Tom loved spending time with his best friend Chewy but nothing was more important than his children and grandchildren. He was known as Poppa D to his grandkids and they were all very special to him. His face lit up when he saw his grandkids and he always loved teaching them something new. Tom was a man of few words but had a heart of gold, he never complained, loved woodworking, reading, and spending time with his family. He was truly knowledgeable on many subjects, his children loved to call to get his advice. It was the only way to keep him talking on the phone.
Tom married his high school sweetheart Connie in December of 1976 . Preceding him in death are his grandparents, his fathers’ Delbert Danker and Charles Helton, and one brother Donald Danker. Left to mourn his passing: his wife Connie Danker of the home, his four children Kim and husband Mark Heitz, Derek and Rebecca Danker, Devin Danker, and Kegan and Lacee Danker. His mother, Carol Helton. Grandkids; Dillon, Josh, Noah, Paislee, Oaklen, and Caleb. Along with three siblings, Alice Helton, Charlie Helton, and Harvey Helton. Tom's legacy will be remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held at Brown's Family Funeral Home in McLoud, Oklahoma, on January 6, 2021.
